Thank You Teachers

It is so hard for me to believe that I now have a 2nd grader and a Kindergartner...the last day of school has arrived!!! We have had a wonderful year filled with great teachers so of course we wanted to make them something special to thank them for all their hard work this year.I ran across the neatest website some months ago and after playing around with it a little I thought it would be perfect for a teacher gift.

http://www.wordle.net/

All you have to do is type in the words you want to be in your word cloud and it creates it for you. The more you type a word the bigger the word appears. So I sat down and went to work. I typed in each kids name in the class, the school name, the year, the teacher's name and a few other words like learn, play, friends and I printed it out on card stock and framed it. Ta da...what a wonderful keepsake for a teacher to remember the year! Hope everyone has a WONDERFUL summer!

I failed to get a picture of Conner's...I guess you can't remember everything!

Teacher Appreciation Week

CELEBRATE EVERYTHING FRAME
Teacher Appreciation Week is coming up so time to get crafty....My kids have WONDERFUL teachers so we wanted to make something extra special!
I will start by saying how much I LOVE chalkboard paint and when I ran across some in a spray paint can I was super pumped! I bought some plain wooden frames at Michaels and spray painted them with the chalkboard paint, hot glued on a simple bow and attached a ribbon and a chalk stick and a cute little letter I found at Michaels too and there you have one adorable personalized frame! We added a picture I had taken of Conner and his teacher and he wrote a message on the frame to make it even more special! I hope they love it as much as I do. This little frame can be used over and over all they have to do is erase the chalk message add a new photo and write on it with the chalk and it can become a celebrate EVERYTHING frame!

GUMBALL THANK YOU
I have made these bubblegum jars before and loved how they turned out so I decided to recreate this idea again this year. Start out with a empty paint can (another one of my LOVES for crafting!) fill it with gumballs and embellish it with ribbon and a tag on the top that reads:
Thanks for "CHEWSING" to teach at SJS this year Conner has a "BALL"

Crayon Art Teacher Gift

I ran across this idea last year and LOVED it so much after making it last year for the kid's teachers that I couldn't' help but make them again this year. I think they are such unique personalized gifts. The kids have such WONDERFUL teachers so I hope they love them as much as I do! Merry Christmas to some VERY important people in my children's lives... their teachers! We are so blessed!

Happy Birthday Teacher

I'm a little behind on this post but wanted to make sure it made it to the blog. Last month was Conner's teacher's birthday and he wanted to make her an extra special gift. We took an empty crystal light container and placed #2 pencils around it and secured them with a rubber band. We tied a big bow around the pencils to hide the rubber band and and filled it with some gerber daisies. I thought it turned into a SUPER cute vase for a SUPER SPECIAL teacher!

My Teacher/ My M&M

Well it is so hard to believe that Kennedy has graduated from 3 year old preschool and is moving on to 4 year old preschool and Conner is getting ready to move from Kindergarten to 1st grade! Where does the time go??? They both have had a wonderful year at SJS with WONDERFUL teachers! I wanted to share the gifts we made for their teachers for their end of year treats. I took mason jars and filled with M&Ms and attached a poem personally signed by my kiddos. I thought they turned out super cute and I just love the little poem:

Green is for the inspiration you give me each day.

Blue is for your patience in showing me the way.

Orange is for your warmth and caring style.

Yellow is for the way you always make me smile.

Red is for my life that you have touched this year.

You’re a very special teacher just like this jar, that’s clear.

You place knowledge in children’s hands

And melt into their hearts and lives forever.

You’re a “Magnificent & Marvelous” teacher!

Thank you for being my M & M!
