Bake Sale Goodies!

The kids in Conner's 1st grade class are having a bake sale to raise money for the earthquake victims in Japan. My kiddos love cupcakes so of course that is what Conner wanted to bring. In order to make them individually packaged for the bake sale I first stated out with the clear plastic punch cups and placed a cupcake in each one, they fit PERFECTLY! I put handmade picks with the kids school logo on them in each one placed them in clear cellophane baggies and tied them up with some cute polka dot ribbon. We used the school colors for the icing, picks and ribbon. I thought they turned out SUPER cute! Conner is super excited to take them into school for the bake sale!

We put together some Easter treats for the kids classmates this evening. Cute and Simple: we took graham crackers, Hershey's chocolate bars and of course PEEPS, put them in a Zip-lock back and added a cute little custom label.

Here is what the label reads:

place peep on to of chocolate
Microwave 10-15 sec (be sure to watch)
Top off with other graham cracker half

Conner's 7th Birthday Letter

It seems like just last week I was working on Conner's 6th birthday letter and here it is now just days away from Conner's 7th Birthday! We can't wait to celebrate at his SHARK party but for now I will share his letter.....

Dear Conner,
An entire year has passed since the last birthday letter I wrote you. Every year when I sit down to write your birthday letter I want to write something inspirational, I pray for the right words, the right thoughts that will seriously and appropriately convey what it is I am wishing and hoping for you, while at the same time wanting so much to be able to reach in and touch your heart and hope that you hear me and know how much I love you.
Today you are seven years old. I remember that night seven years ago very vividly, when you came knocking at the door in the middle of the night, and over 2 1/2 weeks early. You were amazing, so tiny and perfect and beautiful and such a gift from God. Today, I can only say that rather than becoming less amazed with each passing day I have been more amazed by you as you have grown. The awe has never worn off, each day has brought more...more amazement in the unfolding gift of who you are, more amazement that God in his graciousness trusted me with the gift of being your mother. You being you has also deepened my love for your Daddy. I can see his love for you and his devotion to be the best dad he can. It fills me with love and warmth to see you two together playing, hunting, fishing, wrestling or just simply sharing each other’s company.
Know that I’ll be here for you on your path through this thing called life. You are the most incredible "work in progress." You have so much going for you. I love you so much. I love your loving nature, your worry about others, your inquisitive questions, your tears, your smiles. You have taught me how to love really love and appreciate every gasp I take in this sea of motherhood and life. You were that child, first born, who taught me to follow my heart and burn every parenting book. Although still sensitive you've mastered the ability to reason, building credible cases supporting your feelings. I hope you never lose touch with the ability to communicate your emotions, especially in a house full of head strong sisters. Just remember "stubborn sisters make stronger brothers.”
Sometimes I wish we could just stop time so that I can keep you as my little boy forever, but I do so love watching you grow up. You make me so proud, and I want you to know how much I adore, admire, respect and love, love, love you. Where ever your path will lead you in life I will always be two steps behind cheering you on.
I love you more than you will ever know this side of heaven.
Happy 7th Birthday Conner!
Love,
Mommy

CONNER'S 7th BIRTHDAY PARTY....THE INVITE

It is almost time to celebrate yet another birthday at the Taylor house! This year Conner wanted a shark themed birthday which worked out great since we are going to be having his party at an indoor pool. The invitations turned out so cute! The picture does not do it justice...I think my favorite part is the shark bite out of the side of the invite!

Conner is counting down the days till the party. He gets so excited every time one of his friends calls to RSVP! I can't wait to share the party favors we made...they are "Super Cool" as Conner says!

STAY TUNED..... for the party details!

Teacher Appreciation Week

CELEBRATE EVERYTHING FRAME
Teacher Appreciation Week is coming up so time to get crafty....My kids have WONDERFUL teachers so we wanted to make something extra special!
I will start by saying how much I LOVE chalkboard paint and when I ran across some in a spray paint can I was super pumped! I bought some plain wooden frames at Michaels and spray painted them with the chalkboard paint, hot glued on a simple bow and attached a ribbon and a chalk stick and a cute little letter I found at Michaels too and there you have one adorable personalized frame! We added a picture I had taken of Conner and his teacher and he wrote a message on the frame to make it even more special! I hope they love it as much as I do. This little frame can be used over and over all they have to do is erase the chalk message add a new photo and write on it with the chalk and it can become a celebrate EVERYTHING frame!

GUMBALL THANK YOU
I have made these bubblegum jars before and loved how they turned out so I decided to recreate this idea again this year. Start out with a empty paint can (another one of my LOVES for crafting!) fill it with gumballs and embellish it with ribbon and a tag on the top that reads:
Thanks for "CHEWSING" to teach at SJS this year Conner has a "BALL"

Kennedy's 5th Birthday Pool Party
